For the first year of life it took a lot of coaxing to get our little Ren to smile and engage in the things around her. Then came her second year. She has really developed quite a personality. She also loves MUSIC! And the piano is one of her favorite “toys” in the house. We were excited when she finally began using her pointer finger to play various notes. But she soon realized she wasn’t getting the volume she would prefer. So her solution has been to play with her elbows periodically too. She emphatically pumps out a tune with great delight. Now her therapists are still encouraging her to develop her fine motor skills but I have to admit we tend to laugh as much as she does when she pounds out those melodies.
